Marianne Spreng von Orelli

Caux conference organizer

Marianne Spreng born von Orelli, was introduced to IOFC (MRA that was) by her parents who both worked full-time for the movement,

They lived for a while in Caux, thus  their daughters being in local French speaking schools. Marianne became fluent in that language. Her love of languages drew her to start studying interpretation in Geneva university. After a while, she dropped that and started to work with Moral Re-armament.She quickely started to translate speakers on the platform or in the translation cabin. She was a regular speaker in the meetings. Together with her husband Christoph, they made a number of visits to India, Egypt, and numerous other countries of Europe and Asia mainly.

Her interpreting talents were greatly appreciated in the meetings of the Italian movement Sant'Egidio.

She was for a number of years secretary of the Council of the Foundation.

Sadly she died prematurely overnight during a holiday with her husband.
