Mike Lowe

Mike Lowe grew up in Somerset, England and studied Microbiology at Leeds University where a romantic encounter started him on a journey of connecting with the people and cultures of Central and Eastern Europe which were then under communist rule behind the 'Iron Curtain'. He was active writing and editing with the publication 'For A Change' from 1987 to 1992, then taught English in Poland 1992-93. From 1993 to 2002 he was active in the formation and running of Foundations for Freedom, a programme for training young leaders in the former communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the importance of trust-building and the skills and values which build trust.  In 2002 he moved to Melbourne, Australia where he was active in multicultural programs and supported initiatives for reconciliation in Solomon Islands after a civil war there. He currently co-facilitates workshops around the healing of trauma, deep ecology and initiation for men and women based on The Hero's/Heroine's Journey
