René Thonney

One of the Swiss founding generation of the Caux conference centre.

René was working in the Post Office in 1945 when he had the conviction that he should resign and start working 'full-time' with MRA in the setting up of the Caux conference centre in Switzerland. For many years, he worked on the accounts. He was also the treasurer for the local reformed parish, and was at the heart of an apology and a reconciliation with a neighbouring village, Les Avants, after a long-lasting quarrel over angels!
